In this episode I wanted to share with you my experience of Bulgarian wines. I attended a Virtual Zoom tasting hosted by Bulgarian Sommelier Zareh Mesrobyan (Winner of 2018 Gaggenau Sommelier Competition) and was inspired by the quality, the prices, and the interesting indigenous varieties this country has to offer. In this episode, I am joined by the incredibly talented winemaker Paul Pujol who makes the wines of Prophet's Rock in Central Otago. This episode you will not only learn about the wine region of Central Otago but also Paul's journey chasing harvests around the world including time at Kuentz Bas, Alsace and Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Burgundy.
Alsace certainly had the biggest influence on him, so there is quite a big focus on this region.
